Building the frame... Attaching guidelines to hoist it up later.
Due to time constraints, we had to end it off in the middle. No map making platform. But still looks pretty good.
The entire thing was 30 feet tall, which is 10m, which is over 2 overhead bridges. In the end, people made excuses to go off and stuff, and it was left with me, Chong Wei, Pan Cheun, Clement, Zhang Yao and Chee Guan. And then diaster struck.
The estate department came. NO NO NO. CANNOT BUILD HERE.
"why?"
NO NO NO. CANNOT BUILD HERE.
"Dude, start making sense."
BECAUSE YOU CANNOT BUILD WITHOUT PERMIT.
In the end, it turned out that Ms Loh, our CCA teacher, didn't get a permit from the school to build the structure on the field. We told her, but it seems she forgot and we assumed she got a permit and we built it anyway. So the bottom line was: Tear it down.
OMG tear it down?! It took 6 hours of hard, back-breaking work in the baking sun, and TEAR IT DOWN? sigh. In the end we had too. So you won't see it on Monday...
But at least one thing brightened my day. Our year 1s passed outdoor cooking with real fire :D
